Magnificent Obsession is a music documentary that captures the birth, evolution, and creative journey of The RockTronix—an original band featuring Chris Blackwell on guitar, Joseph Patrick Moore on bass, and Wayne Viar on drums.


Follow the trio from rehearsals and pre-production through three intense days in the recording studio as they bring their debut album to life. Through candid interviews, unedited rehearsal footage, behind-the-scenes studio sessions, live performances, and a full-length music video, Magnificent Obsession offers an intimate look inside the minds of three musicians as individual ideas evolve into a collective musical vision.


More than simply a film about recording an album, Magnificent Obsession explores the creativity, collaboration, experimentation, and dedication behind making original music. From the first rehearsal to the final recording, the documentary invites viewers inside the creative process as The RockTronix pursue the sound—and the magnificent obsession—that brought them together.
